Trilby Baptist Church Minute Book (1922-1941) Trilby Baptist Church, also known as First Baptist Church, Trilby, was originally organized as Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in 1878 (compiler’s researched conclusion). That name remained through 1884. Then a member of South Florida Baptist Association, it became a member of Hernando Baptist Association when that HBA organized in 1885. In 1886, the church changed its name to Macon Baptist Church, which was then the name of the present-day Trilby community. In 1888, the church became a member of the newly-organized Pasco Baptist Association. In 1908, the Macon community changed its name to Trilby, and the church did the same.
