Whole number of School-houses for Freedmen in your District? one    Their condition, capacity, value, and by whom owned?  one at Brooksville Fla. owned by the Freedmen.  there is no school at Brooksville at the present time.  the school house occupied at Tampa is rented by the Freedmen, each have capacity for fifty scholars

7. Number of your visits to Schools? Two Day? None Night? None Sabbath? —-

9. Number and names of places, now destitute, in which Day-Schools might be organized? Brooksville Fla, where the Freedmen own a School house purchased for them by the Bureau, 50 to 70 Scholars would attend

10. Number of pupils (estimated) who would attend such Schools? {But there is no Teacher to take charge of the school

11. Amount which would probably be raised by the Freedmen, for school purposes, in each destitute neighborhood? The freedmen are poor, they have made several efforts to raise funds for the support of the Schools, but have generally failed.

12. What efforts are you making to secure the support of schools by pupils, parents, boards of education, or the State Government? The School at Tampa is self sustaining the pupils paying $1.50 per month the Teacher however complains that he cannot collect his fees from more than half of his pupils.

13. Whole number of additional School-houses, for Freedmen, now wanted in your Sub-District?  one at Tampa Fla

14. Could you organize your Sub-District into School Districts, each with a School Committee pledged to carry on schools therein?School committees have been organized, who are pledged to do all they can to carry on Schools but teachers cannot be found in this part of the State.

15. To what extent would help from without be needed in such cases? Paid Teachers and assistance to erect School Houses Tampa is the only place where the Freedmen require aid to erect School-houses

16. What is the public sentiment as to the education of the Freedmen and Poor Whites? The public sentiment I think has changed in regard to the education of Freedmen & poor whites.  the intelligent people of this portion of the State are in favor of educating the people, generally without regards to class or color.

17. Are Night-Schools for Adults needed in your District? —-   In what way would they be carried on? The one at Tampa is I believe the only one that it would be desirable to establish that is the only one that would be of advantage to the Freedmen at present.

18. What more can this Bureau do for educating the children of Refugees (or Poor Whites)? to establish a free school in each county in the district (with good teachers)

19. How long will Northern-charitable aid be needed for Freemen and Refugee Schooled of your District? until such time as the State ready to make some provision for educating the people
