Historic Markers – Zephyrhills Depot

ZEPHYRHILLS RAILROAD DEPOT HISTORICAL MARKER. From the main intersection in downtown Zephyrhills, Gall Boulevard (US Highway 301) and Fifth Avenue (State Road 54), proceed south to the next traffic light (approximately 0.2 miles) and turn left (East) on South Avenue. This is the road to the Zephyrhills Airport. If approaching Zephyrhills from the south on either US 301 or SR-39, South Avenue is the first traffic light within the city. Travel east on South Avenue 0.7 miles. The depot is on the right as the last building before crossing the railroad tracks, but the nature of the building is not at all recognizable from this approach. The noticeable landmark is a SCL/LN railroad caboose (gray in color, not the old familiar red) that is quite near the street at the entrance to the parking lot. The loading dock for the depot is at the opposite end of the building from the street.
