Hernando County Schools in 1880-1881
The following was transcribed by Jeff Cannon from Hernando County School Board minutes from Sept. 30, 1880.
Based on names of the trustees, the following schools were likely located in what is now Pasco County: Fort Broome, Willow Oak, Brushy Branch, Sea Island, Prospect, Wesley Chapel, Fort Dade Seminary, Townsend House, New River, Baillie’s School, Anclote, Langs School, Pine Grove, Surveyors Pond, Spring Valley, Tillis Hammock and possibly a couple of others.

The Accounts and Vouchers of J.J. Hale Treasurer, for the year ending this day now submitted, examined and approved and a copy of the same filed in this office.
The Account of S. Stringer Supt. to Schools for postage and expenses in attending public schools for the current scholastic year now presented and were referred to County Commissioners for payment.
