The following was transcribed by Jeff Cannon from Hernando County School Board minutes from Oct. 1, 1878.

Based on names of the trustees, the following schools were likely located in what is now Pasco County: Fort Broome, Willow Oak, Brushy Branch, Sea Island, Prospect, Wesley Chapel, Fort Dade Seminary, Townsend House, New River, Baillie’s School, Anclote, Langs School, Pine Grove, Surveyors Pond and possibly a couple of others..
